Summary: The Director of People Operations will be dedicated to driving business outcomes by cultivating a highly effective and engaged workforce in partnership with key business leaders. Responsible for the growth of the human organization, they will place talent in key roles created to position Huda Beauty as the leading global beauty and media brand. A champion of the people, they will act with integrity to honor the Company values, shareholder, stakeholder needs and the needs of the people. Leaning on business intelligence, behavioral analysis, and mental and physical wellness, alongside the wider team, this individual works closely with the SVP of P&C to design and deliver and execute a strategy to provide holistic support and stability to the global team at Huda Beauty.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of HR practitioners and Office staff
  • Design and implement HR processes and policies, including onboarding, offboarding learning and development, performance management, etc
  • Lead in the analysis, strategy, and implementation of global total reward programs across the company
  • Identify and help solve organizational design, process, and workflow challenges to ensure Huda Beauty operates efficiently and effectively
  • Identify and surface trends using both qualitative and quantitative data to help improve organizational health and operations; utilize data to help the company make smart and informed decisions
  • Be an internal expert for global HR compliance, employment law, HR software, payroll, compliance, GDPR, etc.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and iteration of new people initiatives, as well as assess and improve current HR processes, policies, etc.
  • Develop deep relationships and build trust with key shareholders and stakeholders
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to business owners on people-related strategies and engagements
  • Help lead global efforts in “Return to Office”, Covid protocols, office health and safety, in conjunction with the Employee Experience team
  • Work closely with Employee Experience team to amplify and educate the global team on the Company mission and values (‘The Why’)
  • Partner closely with Internal Comms to consistently strengthen excellent internal communications framework
  • Partner with the Employee Experience team to Implement and execute internal Social Impact strategy, including a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion model that supports all HR practices
  • Amplify employer brand and reputation, identifying Huda Beauty as an employer of choice, demonstrating a compelling company vision, equity, and collaboration


Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR or People Ops experience in a late-stage start-up/scale-up environment
  • Must have working knowledge and experience of either U.K., U.S., and/or UAE employment law
  • Experience with setting short and long-term global people strategy while being able to quickly execute tactically with a ‘roll up your sleeves’ approach
  • Strong background in creating systems, processes, and procedures to establish framework for scalability in the organization
  • Experience working with Founders by collaboratively establishing vision, ideating strategy, and executing accordingly
  • Highly effective at building and nurturing relationships across the organization to maximize teamwork and collaboration, while effectively listening, coaching, and guiding objectively with compassion and accountability
  • Outstanding interpersonal, coaching, and listening skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization
  • Flexibility, resilience, and comfort navigating ambiguity — the tempo at Huda Beauty is fast and can pivot quickly, ability to thrive and lead a team in this environment
  • Proven success as kind and empathetic leader and coach/mentor with success in hiring and fostering growth of their team; ability to successfully motivate and challenge a team of talented and creative people at all levels of the organization
  • High levels of intellectual horsepower combined with empathy and emotional intelligence, the ability to listen to and learn from their team
