The Zaonezhie Retreat, with its 14 rooms & houses, spa and restaurant, located in Karelia, will open its doors this Summer 2023.
Overview:
- The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Zaonezhie Retreat including front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, spa, and guest services
- They will ensure that all guests receive excellent service, coordinate with teams to maintain cleanliness and stock, monitor occupancy, work with the General Manager to develop and implement systems, manage a team of department heads, monitor performance, address issues, collaborate with spa and restaurant teams, maintain relationships with guests, suppliers, and the local community, assist with budgeting and financial planning, and review and analyze financial reports
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the retreat, including front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, spa, and guest services
- Ensure that all guests receive excellent service and that their needs are met in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate with the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure that all guest rooms and public spaces are clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked
- Monitor occupancy levels and room availability, and assist with reservations as needed
- Work closely with the General Manager to develop and implement systems and processes for the retreat's operations
- Review and update standard operating procedures for all departments as needed
- Ensure that all staff are trained on and adhere to the retreat's policies and procedures
- Manage a team of department heads and managers, including setting goals and objectives, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support
- Set performance goals for department heads and managers and monitor progress towards achieving those goals
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to team members to help them improve their skills and performance
- Address any issues or concerns that arise in a timely and effective manner
- Collaborate with the spa and restaurant teams to ensure that all services are delivered to the highest standards
- Review and update menus and service offerings as needed
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns that arise
- Maintain strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and the local community
- Develop and implement strategies for building and maintaining relationships with guests, suppliers, and the local community
- Foster a culture of excellent customer service throughout the retreat
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning as needed
- Review and analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement
- Assist with the development and implementation of the retreat's budget and financial plan
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure that the retreat is operating within budget
To be successful in this position you will:
- 5+ years of experience in hotel or retreat management, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role
- Preopening experience highly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Russian and English
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in hotel management or a related field preferred
