Nike is looking for a Director of Metaverse Engineering.

As a Director of Metaverse Engineering, you will use your strong engineering leadership, communication, and innovation skills to lead the development of rapid end-to-end proof of concepts, prototypes, and production of Metaverse software and device solutions. You will partner with elite internal Nike teams leveraging their decades of experience and knowledge to conceptualize, define, and deliver technology innovation solutions for use within Nike, as part of existing Nike products, and for new lines of business.
Responsibilities:
- Bias for action: Build, manage, and lead a team to design and deliver rapid end-to-end proof of concepts, prototypes, and production software and device solutions
- Win as a team: Deliver solutions independently and together with distributed sprint teams, using modern software development and agile methodologies
- Innovation Culture: Demonstrate Technology Innovation practices and thought leadership
- Dive deep: Leverage the newest technology to constantly invent, simplify and up level
What Company Is Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher Computer science, Software engineering or combination of relevant education, experience and training
- A minimum of 8 years experience in leading and managing engineering teams at the highest levels with hands-on engineering experience through all points of the development lifecycle
- Familiarity with a broad range of Metaverse technologies, from web3 to spatial web
- Strong communication skills with the ability to reduce ambiguity into clear, agile execution
- Knowledge of blockchain ecosystems, technologies and culture including DLTs, cryptocurrencies, NFTs, smart contracts, dApps, DAOs, wallets, and more
- History of creating compelling strategic visions for the future and bringing those visions to life in a matrixed environment
- Empathetic active listener with a passion for nurturing team members
- A sense of urgency to deliver great, effective solutions that are utilized by the business and create the future of sport
- Experience working on technology innovation projects with high degrees of ambiguity
- Self starter, ability to run in a highly dynamic, virtual, global and fast paced environment. You build plans, track timelines and budget
- Familiarity with modern development and build strategies such as cloud, microservices, containers, lambdas, continuous integration and delivery, unit testing, static analysis, automated integration tests, refactoring, etc
- iOS, Android, and web application development as well as security/privacy experience is a plus
