Aramco Innovations is a Russian representative office of the research center that is the part of Saudi Aramco, the state-owned national oil company of Saudi Arabia. Aramco Research Center in Moscow supports development in the areas of upstream technologies in simulation and modeling, advanced materials, data analytics and artificial intelligence. It promotes collaborative research activities with nearby Lomonosov Moscow State University and other entities in Russia.
Company is looking for a bright and passionate intern who wants to create products related to tabular geodata, time series, machine learning, and development in general. Group works at the intersection of consulting and science. Company conducts scientific research and applies ML to complex oil industry problems, flexibly adapting to constantly changing requirements.
Basic Information:
- Work 2-3 days a week from office in Moscow near Tulskaya metro station
- Initially sign a contract for 3-6 months. Possible full-time employment after 1 year of work
What company expects from the candidate:
- Basic mathematical background (statistics, linear algebra)
- Ability to communicate in English and clarify tasks with the client
- Ability to present the results of your work in a presentation format
- Attention to detail and a desire for self-improvement
- Clean and understandable code
- Experience with Python, git, Pandas, Matplotlib, Plotly, scikit-learn, Optuna, Streamlit, PyTorch, as well as boosting algorithms (CatBoost, LightGBM, XGBoost)
Main responsibilities:
- Creating datasets for training models from a set of Excel files and open data, as well as cleaning them
- Clarifying tasks with the client and understanding the domain area
- Training models on tabular data
- Creating application prototypes based on developed pipelines
- Implementation and iterative modification of task-solving pipelines
- Preparing reports and presentations with the results of computational experiments and interpretation of the results
- Writing documentation and user manuals
