BlaBlaCar is looking for an CTO.
BlaBlaCar is the world’s leading community-based travel network, connecting over 100 million members across 22 countries looking to carpool or travel by bus. By sharing rides and filling empty seats on the road, community avoids 1.6 million tons of CO2 emissions every year (as if Paris was free of road traffic for a year!).
Your mission:
- As future interim CTO Russia, you will be joining the Engineering team and work on developing and implementing the technology strategy that supports the company's business objectives while being a bridge between RU and HQ Engineering teams
- Company is passionate about providing the best experience to users focusing on B2B area and is looking for a skilled Chief Technology Officer to drive stability and innovation in platform
Your responsibilities:
- Be the contact person for IT processes in the Carpool and Buses areas
- Implement Data Security Policy and Personal Data Protection Plan
- Manage the platform's infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and reliable
- Support the replication of changes done by HQ team in tools presented in RU or influencing RU business
- Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations
- Overview, optimization and evolution of IT Infrastructure
- Implementation of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as code (IaC) approach
- Support and development of Cloud services and Software factory implementation
- Organization and control of Data Flows and Analytical tools
- Development of monitoring systems and IT incident policy
- Develop and manage the technology budget and resource allocation
- Participation with IT strategy and Roadmap for Product Teams, working closely with the product and supply teams
- In coordination with HQ team, ensure compliance with security, data protection and privacy regulations and according company standards
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a CTO or in a senior technology leadership role in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong technical expertise in: IT Security and Data Protection, IT Infrastructure, Cloud services, DevOps practices, Data Management and Analytics, IT incident policy, IT budget and strategy
- Experience with agile methodologies and software development practices
- Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality products on time and within budget
- Experience with marketplace platforms is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Passionate about technology and its potential to transform the marketplace industry
- English - Fluent
