Company has an exciting opportunity at Farplas for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a proven track record leading transformation. As the CTO, you will lead the development and execution of the Technology Strategy & Roadmap for the entire Farplas organization. You will be responsible for Product Development, R&D, Toolshop, Process Development and Manufacturing Technologies departments. Working closely with CEO, you will be the driving force behind strategy.
Job description and requirements:
Strategy:
- Managing design & development phase in line with the commercial and technical targets of the customers and Farplas. Ensuring that design to cost and quality targets are met
- Ensuring industrialization of all OEM projects, coordinating all necessary investments within the scope of the project in accordance with customer and plant expectations, targets
- Propose actions to constantly reinforce close relations with customers (participate in research or advance phase projects, tech days, etc…), and taking action in cooperation with the technical and commercial departments in headquarters, worldwide offices and partners
Technology:
- Defining the complete technology need for all new projects, searching and developing the most feasible solution/supplier for each technology and managing the relevant relations with all partners
- Continuously searching for new technologies, new R&D projects and creating advanced project potentials so that Farplas generates actual revenues from new tech solutions, products. Communicating with the technical customer teams, industry partners, suppliers, institutes to achieve this goal
Leadership:
- Make leadership for your employees, especially with department managers, ensuring team development for corporate identity and company needs, solving problems with employees in accordance with official rules when necessary, and reporting processes appropriately
- Provide credible and agile leadership to the team and employees, ensuring that they actively contribute to the company objectives, and demonstrate integrity, moral ethics and positive leadership, in all of their duties and interactions
Operations & Controls:
- Providing all necessary information to customers teams and actively supporting them in new offers by leading all technical feasibility, design review and cost build-up studies
- To manage all daily operations of technical teams, tool shop, department related procedures, regular Company meetings, etc.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities, occupational safety and environmental management systems, quality system and quality assurance activities within the scope of the company's activities
- Establish close relationships with the start-up ecosystem, universities and related government authorities in Turkey and any other countries defined as strategical priority
- Have knowledge of all kinds of contracts, official documents, payments, notifications, etc. related to technical departments, signing them under authorization and/or obtaining authorized signatures with appropriate approval
Work Experience:
- You are a seasoned CTO and have had knowledge of OEM projects, product development experience, manufacturing technologies and process development experience, toolshop management tools, new technologies, R&D projects and creating new advanced projects
- You have worked in multi-national companies and/or have worked in countries outside of Turkey, giving you a global perspective
- At least 15 years of working experience in senior management position
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and software (Dassault Enovia)
- BSc/BA in engineering or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
- Experience in Manufacturing technologies is necessary
- Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future
