KaiOS is an operating system for smarter phones. As our in-market Business Development Manager, you will be the lead representative of KaiOS. You are responsible to implement, develop, and grow the KaiOS ecosystem by understanding the end-user requirements and engaging the different players and stakeholders required to build the most suitable proposition.
It will be your job to engage all required parties to build-up the best KaiOS based offerings with associated apps, content and services. You will develop KaiOS ecosystem by interfacing directly with MNOS, Device manufacturers relevant retail channels as well as local application, content and services developers.
As KaiOS leading representative in your market, you will be empowered to build the most suitable and competitive solutions. This will include negotiating with relevant key stakeholders the most favorable business model and local customization.
While the role has a strong focus on building business solutions, we will encourage you to explore new opportunities for product improvement or new user offerings. KaiOS is about bringing the power of the internet to new people and help them learn, engage, grow and develop thanks to it.
Job responsibilities and tasks
Build up a deep understanding of KaiOS products, requirements and solutions. Understand the ecosystem pillars and building points.
Develop a strong and in-depth understanding of market dynamics: Customer behavior, needs, and trends. Mobile offering in terms of traffic, pricing of usage and cost of devices. Digital landscape with identified local applications to complete the KaiOS Store offering.
Shape the strategy for your region, identifying key players and stakeholders as well as required tactics, resources and milestones from start to first product launch and following roadmap growth.
Be the evangelist for our products and users towards local players and potential partners, including public and government organization.
Support growth with understanding and definition of differentiating and innovative solutions, in line with company strategy and product developments.
Ensure market monitoring and insights reporting toward regional HQ.
Requirements
You have at least three years’ experience in Business Development or a similar relevant role.
You have a diploma from a business school or other relevant business, technical related education.
Your interest is in mobile, applications and user-experience.
You’re experienced in building or developing new business or new markets, both hands-on (executing yourself) as well as in overseeing projects conducted with market research agencies and freelancers.
You’ve been working with some of the relevant players for KaiOS ecosystem: device manufacturer, Application developer, Mobile operator, Value Added Service or advertising company.
You can express yourself well in both spoken and written English. Turning complex issues into understandable, simple language comes naturally to you.
You have managed complex projects in the past. You are used to collaborating with teams and people spread out over the globe in different time zones.
You’re a creative thinker and see yourself working with our product and UX teams to turn your knowledge of trends and end-users into groundbreaking new product ideas.
Bonus points:
Russian and other regional languages.
Experience with one of the key stakeholder in the market.
As we operate globally, being able to speak and write in languages besides English is a plus too. The more the better.
You can add additional value if you can work together with other Business Development Manager in other markets.
