As an Associate Legal Counsel, you will work on exciting legal issues. In this role, you will partner on initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with Googlers from all over the company. As an integrated part of the team, you will proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will move information law forward.
In this role, you will support teams with substantive, well-thought-out legal analysis, and will facilitate cross-functional cooperation on the ground. You will be an inspiring advocate and enthusiastic team player, eager to help shape the future direction of innovation. You will assist with the analysis of the impact of future legislation, coordinate internally to prepare for implementation of new policies, and assist running related regulatory investigations and lawsuits.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal reviews of Google’s product, marketing, business, and public policy initiatives, and provide solution-oriented practical advice to facilitate launches and innovation
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws across all aspects of Google’s operations in Russia and Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS)
- Provide the legal analysis of local regulations, including running risk assessments and analysis of implementation procedures for upcoming legislation
- Facilitate the cross-functional cooperation, take ownership for a well structured and smooth alignment processes, ensure consistency in our legal approach
- Work with external legal counsel on a wide scope of matters (including litigation)
Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in Law or equivalent practical experience
- Qualified lawyer in Russia
- Experience with internet policy and/or legal matters
- Ability to speak and write in Russian and English fluently
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in project management, legal consulting in a large multinational company, legal department, or law firm
- Experience in the digital regulatory environment and/or legal matters, with familiarity with internet technologies and the surrounding issues
- Knowledge of high-tech legal terminology
- Hardworking, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking/prioritization abilities
- Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues, developing solutions
