The British Government is seeking an Arts Manager to join The British Embassy in Moscow.

 

Job Description:

To develop, manage and deliver arts project outcomes, working with partners and stakeholders to meet the strategic objectives.
To develop and manage relationships between stakeholders and partners in Russia, other relevant regions, and the UK in order to promote UK culture and education.
To manage the delivery of arts projects, increasingly through partnership key accounts, to meet the British Council’s and the British Embassy’s objectives and targets and partner expectations in Russia.

 

Roles:

The purpose of the Arts programmes is to connect UK and Russian cultural sectors to help both develop new ideas and knowledge, skills and networks and drive positive developments, grow partnerships, including business partnerships, and contribute to future prosperity and stability.

 

The Arts Manager will develop and deliver the following activities within our Arts and Culture portfolio:

UK-Russia Creative Bridge 20-21 programme.
Any potential future FCDO-funded programmes like UK-Russia Creative Bridge.
British Council funded programme like UK-Russia Year of Music 2019 or other arts activities and future UK-Russia seasons.
The Arts Manager will be responsible for development and delivery of the programme in the following areas: project management, financial planning and management, communications and knowledge management, evaluation and reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

Programme development in partnership with British Council arts teams in the UK.
Identifying, approaching Russian and UK partners for programme delivery.
Identifying and approaching service providers for the programme, preparing and agreeing terms of reference and contracts for Russian partners and venues and UK trainers and consultants.
Event coordination.
Ensuring adherence to standards and policy for the following areas: child protection, equality diversity and inclusion, health and safety, environmental framework.

Planning, managing and reporting on the budget for the programme in line with client requirements: planning and forecasting, tracking expenditure, monthly and quarterly reporting, initiating and running tenders for suppliers.
Managing non-cash income.
Working in SAP.
Managing all financial documentation and retaining data for accounting and audit.

Mediating between Russian partners and UK partners.
Working on communications strategies and media campaigns.
Assessing and monitoring risks related to communications.
Preparing press-releases, announcements, publications.
Collecting audience data.

Ensuring that risks are identified and monitored.
Agreeing actions to mitigate risks.
Escalating risks as appropriate.
Evaluation and Reporting

Collating and analysing data for the report: audience data, financial data, media statistics, feedback from partners and participants of the programme.
Completing reporting documents.

 

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
Proficient written and spoken English and Russian (C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*).
Experience of working with the cultural and creative industries sectors in Russia.
Experience of managing large scale international programmes.
Experience of working effectively as a member of a team.
Experience of financial management and reporting.
Understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Experience of working with the cultural and creative industries sectors in the UK and internationally.
Required competencies
Leading and Communicating, Collaborating and Partnering, Delivering Value for Money, Managing a Quality Service, Demonstrating Resilience.

 

Benefits and conditions of employment
This is a fixed-term contract for one year full time position (35 hours per week) to cover a maternity leave, with possibility of this may be prolonged up to 3 years. Monthly salary for this grade is RUB 102,263 , paid 13 times per year.

The successful candidate will be subject to professional background check and security clearance.

Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Russia are subject to Terms and Conditions of Service according to local Russian employment law.
