Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the visual artistic style of the project, bringing together all of the artistic components into one visual style and management of compliance with this visual style at all stages of artistic production;
- Monitoring of all art production for the project (Environment, Characters, VFX, Animation, etc.);
- Searching for and implementing artistic and technological solutions into the production process to improve the visual quality of the project;
- Preparation of the Art Style Guide;
- Finding, attracting and supporting external human resources to complete the assigned artistic tasks (this is about outsourcing, searching, selection, evaluation and budgeting);
- Translating the artistic concept to the creative team;
- Coordination of the professional growth of the creative team and working with art managers;
- Communication with the heads of related and external departments regarding necessary production issues (game design, marketing, developers);
- Coordination of the goals and plans for the artistic component of the game with the General Producer;
Key requirements:
- Art education (knowledge of artistic principles: composition, color, light);
- At least 3 years of experience as an art lead/art director in the game industry;
- Existence of previously released projects;
- Experience managing a remote/distributed team;
- An in-depth understanding of pipelines and production tools for all parts of an AAA game project;
- High leadership and communication skills;
- The ability to understand evaluate the UI/UX from a user perspective;
Especially appreciated:
- Skills in creating character models and a confident knowledge of the Maya, ZBrush and Substance packages;
- Experience with UE4;
- Concept art skills.
