General Responsibilities:
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for managing and developing the business activities in the following markets: India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indian Ocean, African continent and hotel amenities.
Objectives:
- Develop the business activity and reach profitability objectives in the territory, in accordance to the brand guidelines and strategic objectives of la Maison Hermès
- Contribute with the team to the strategic commercial development
Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Elaborate, implement and analyze the commercial strategy of the territory while collaborating with the Trade Marketing, Training and Merchandising teams. Select the investments necessary to the successful implementation of the strategy, taking into consideration the specifics of each market and each client
Develop business and partnership with clients:
- Monitor and visit regularly markets and distributors
- Engage with Brand Managers to build trustworthy and effective partnerships
- Every year, build market business plan, including market strategy, retail/wholesale and purchase projections, assortment, capex projects, trade plan and A&P and follow up with the Brand Manager on a quarterly basis. Negotiate over-investment, if applicable
- Set up regular meetings with key markets and business reviews on a quarterly basis (for key markets)
- Build strong acumen of market new developments and opportunities and make recommendations to MD and team
- Set up price structure and negotiate contracts, if necessary
- Understand specifics of the markets and coordinate with HQ teams any technical and regulatory requirements
Marketing:
- Build, along with MEIA Marketing Manager and local Brand Manager, detailed and impactful trade marketing plans within our budget constraints
- Follow up POS animations within deadlines in collaboration with Marketing/Merchandising team
VM:
- Improve, in partnership with the distributor, and strengthen footprint and image through negotiations of optimum spaces within the flagships of the region
- Ensure that the merchandising guidelines are respected in all generic and personalized stores
Training:
- Build in conjunction with MEIA Training Manager and local Training relays a yearly training plan making sure new comers and existing staff are trained on novelties and pillars
- Ensure exclusive BA perfect grooming and engagement
- Organize regular sales/motivation contests
Forecasts:
- Prepare and monitor forecasts. Pay attention to forecast accuracy
Reporting:
- Follow up monthly BP receipt monthly
- Communicate “best-practices” and track initiatives of competitors
Budget:
- Track expense budget
- Actively participate to budget processes
Management:
- Co-Manage a Business Planning & Analysis Coordinator
- Animate teams of exclusive BAs and Brand Managers
Press & Influence:
- Build with Brand Managers and Marketing Manager a dynamic Press/Influence plan in each local market
- Be the Ambassador of “La Maison” if needed
Profile And Requirements:
- Min 6-year prior experience in perfumes and cosmetics
- Experience in Export
- Excellent organizational, analytical and inter-personal skills. Ready to work in a polyvalent, fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment
- Available to travel 40%
- Languages: English and French a plus
