В сеть магазинов Спортмастер требуется Apparel R&D Director.

 

Sportmaster is in search of a strong leader for Research and Development team responsible for innovative materials and technologies.

 

Purpose:

  • Manage Sportmaster external Garment and Material suppliers, labs and experts to discover and develop material innovations and technologies that can be applied in collection development and optimize consumer value for Sportmaster products
  • Collaborate and coordinate Nanyang Technological University Laboratory in Singapour to maximize its commercial relevance as the key driver of research and development of strategic material innovations and technologies
  • Oversee and develop a proactive, high performing working mode within by setting SMART objectives, identifying talent and high performers, and providing professional growth opportunities

 

Responsibilities:

Innovation Development:

  • Collaborate and coordinate with the NTU Lab Director research and development projects, in order to optimize its commercial value and align with the strategic requirements
  • Lead cross category Innovation and Strategic R&D Roadmap Review; including the APD assessment of technology utilization within and across brands
  • Lead cross functional global research and ideation efforts to discover, evaluate, select, and present new material trends, concepts and technologies for current and future Sportmaster development or use
  • Lead the development and commercialization of new material concepts and technologies within available resources, including the NTU Lab, Sportmaster R&D partner suppliers
  • Coordinate new material concept and technology prototype creation for the review/evaluation of clients (Brand Management and Design) and partners (Material Team)
  • Create and sell-in to Brand Management and Design a seasonal material concept offer to address their needs for competitive market trend relevance and differentiation, consumer use relevance, with a focus on high-value material fabrics and technologies
  • Coordinate with the Head of Testing Group test protocols and performance standards/requirements for new material concepts and technologies
  • Collaborate with Apparel Brand Management and Marketing teams in formulation of brand specific technology communication systems and protocols. Lead content implementation and approval in packaging

Personnel Management:

  • Lead and develop top performing group of production & testing managers, packaging designers
  • Demonstrate leadership through role-modeling the brand and corporate values while fostering a performance culture
  • Driving group KPI fulfillment and SMART objectives setting
  • Support professional growth and development for personbel retention
  • Be the main representative of the group’s activities and interests in projects, events and meetings
  • Drive change management within team by actively supporting innovations in tools and design related processes

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Sport/outdoor apparel market main features and specifics in relation to brands and consumer product demands
  • Familiarity with the Apparel industry – knowledge of key players-suppliers in the market (locally and globally)
  • Ability to build successful supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of embroideries, prints, material washing standards and their effect to material or/and garment
  • Advanced knowledge of specification of fabric and/or apparel trim components
  • Ability to apply macro-economic trends and information to product development
  • Knowledge of current Apparel, Materials trend and innovations
  • Negotiation skills to capture the company’s interest in terms of price, lead time and quality
  • Ability to influence others and plan consequences in long-term, to consider all possible outcomes and scenarios
  • Personnel Management skills: Mentoring/coaching, identifying and developing talent, providing timely and relevant feedback to support growth, providing clear direction to others, actively managing change within the organization
  • Advanced Communication Skills
  • A proactive, friendly, positive attitude to your work and colleagues - ability to work and support others in a team environment
